The Lake Ridge Chorale (formerly Celebration Singers) was established in 2010 as a 501c(3) non-profit organization. The ~35-member adult choir consists of local musicians. This choral group places emphasis on both musical excellence and community service while performing a wide variety of musical styles at free, seasonal concerts. Charitable donations of food and money are graciously accepted at concerts. One-hundred percent plus of the concert donations collected support (3) local, charitable organizations. Charities supported are ACTS (Action in the Community Through Service), the Kara Foundation, serving young adult cancer victims and their families, and HUGS (Help Us Grow Strong), which provides improved shelter and safety for PWC’s homeless living in tent communities. The Lake Ridge Chorale performs its concerts at the Old Bridge United Methodist Church. Additionally, the Lake Ridge Chorale maintains a special relationship with the community of Westminster at Lake Ridge, for whom it performs a second seating of each concert given during the season.
To defray operational costs the Lake Ridge Chorale engages in multiple revenue generating activities such as selling program ads, selling White House ornaments, collecting member dues, and sponsoring a golf tournament in the spring are but some of their efforts to defeat operating costs.
